Well I started off drawing at a very tender age and eventually I began to go beyond than just the pencil, I started exploring different media, styles and techniques. I love to read so I live my life in a continous learning process...Although I have to admit the praise gets to my head sometimes... I think the advantage I have from other artists is my versatility... I love exploring different art forms eg. drawing, painting, computer graphics, music production and animation. I am inspired by the world around me and I focus and study other peoples artwork as if it were my own, I am very open to various styles and I accept possibly anything that is displayed to me. My passions in art would have to be graffiti, I love the urban world, the music the art the style..everything. I have done a lil tags here and there and I have done pieces for people...if you ever see Hef around Trinidad, well thats me... Currently right now I am a Rebel artist...which is basically a freelance artist who does not commit himself to one establishment, I could never really see me working under a "boss" for too long, even the thought of it frustrates me, I am also a past student of Queen's Royal College. where I was inspired by the knowledge and skill of my teachers Ken "Avelino" Reyes and his silent assistant Astar Bishop, Astar never taught me art, but as a fellow artist we shared alot. I also repect someone who I believe will go far.. and that is Karl Doyle, Karl has always been a good friend and almost like an older brother to me and he is a great artist. In the near future I am hoping to get a scholarship with my SATs and portfolio to SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) thats the school I have placed my eyes on for years, Nothing is going to stop me... people say I'm young and I still have alot to learn and I dont disagree... Being 17 and trying to make it in the artworld isnt easy after all. I would like to thank my father (Curtis Popplewell), my mother (Gezelle Morle) and my aunt (Georgia Popplewell) for helping me and supporting so far and hope that they continue to do so..
