More about Brian...
Brian Ramsey is the author and publisher of the CD, Discovering the Birds of Trinidad and Tobago.
The CD contains descriptions of 332 species found on both islands with over 820 images of birds. It is firstly an introduction to the birds of Trinidad and Tobago and covers approximately 70% of the known birds, secondly it is an introduction to the world of tropical birding.
The CD arose out of a love of outdoors, birds and photography, however, Ramsey sometimes experienced difficulty in identifying particular birds because most reference materials require you to have some idea of the particular type of bird to determine where to start the identification process.
In a situation where an individual does not know the particular species and can only tell some of the colours of the bird or the habitat where the bird was seen, then it is difficult to identify the specific bird. As a result of this difficulty Ramsey sought to develop a medium that would assist in easing the difficulty of identifying specific birds.
Brian Ramsey graduated with honors from the University of South Florida with a Masters in Business Administration concentrating in Finance. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from St Leo University in Florida, where he majored in Management and Accounting. His secondary education was obtained at Presentation College, San Fernando. At the primary education level he attended San Fernando Boys Government School and Clifton Hill School, Point Fortin.
