More about Christiane...
Christiane Dopwell is a poet from the Caribbean Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.  Having always been drawn to a creative outlet, she channels her inspirations which draw from life experience and her relationships with the people she has come in contact with over the years, into her poetry.

While there is an element of fantasy to her work, Christiane believes that writing pure imagination without a grounding in experience, could remove the connection which people feel to her poetry; therefore her poetry is based on her own feelings, emotions and fantasies at the time of writing any piece.

Christiane has experience not only in writing, but in commercial graphic and web design, as well as film and stage production.  Her holistic thought process, recollection and imagination, with a strong visual focus, at times result in poetry that forms almost on its own, and as a result is easily accessible to readers, providing them with an intense sensory experience.

Omnipotence

Hear me
I speak, though I may use no words
I sing to your heart in silence and mist
Every movement of the wind through the leaves
Screams to you - Hear me

In every look, every sunny morning
Even in the clouded day I call your name
Whispering with the stillness of a pond, look at me
See my lips in the caress of warm raindrops on skin
Feel my heart beating in the wings of a thousand birds
Hear me

I call to you, in unremembered dreams
In forgotten happy moments
The sunset gone unnoticed
The butterfly that crossed your window
The infant's laugh - all cry out to you
As I wait for you to simply - Hear me

Poseidon

Sunshine
Gold caressing bare skin
Tingling
My body begins to glow

Warm
Water touching sand
Laughing
I run to your embrace

Love
Ocean of mystery and depth
Explored
Yet unmapped bitter glory

Glistening
I feel you t race along my neck
Breathing
Your scent in dark anticipation

Strength
I am surrounded, enveloped in you
Floating
Soothed yet energized in your tide

Immersed
I am a part of you now
Plunging
We move together as our currents merge

Gasping
I surface as my lungs crave breath
Inevitable
