Ill Twinz Franchise aka Trinidad 's Finest consists of Tommy Deff and Swayze both from Trinidad, West Indies. We first met years ago at an impromptu freestyle cipher at Swayze's school and greatly respected each others style and wordplay. We started to politic and then decided to do a track together and from there our artistic relationship quickly grew. When unforeseen events brought us both to London at the very end of 2001 the official birth of the Ill Twinz Franchise in 2004 was long overdue.

History
Tommy Deff and Swayze had been very active in Trinidad 's Hip Hop scene before leaving for London, Tommy Deff was a member of Dreadthren, the major player in Trinidad Hip Hop from 1995 to 2001. A group that hosted bi-annual events that showcased local talent while hitting the mixtape circuit with regular releases. Under that brand he performed extensively and opened for the big names of that period such as DMX, Method Man and Redman to name a few. The group officially disbanded in 2001 when Tommy and another member migrated and interest from New York publisher Frank Liwall of The Royalty Network petered out, due to the fact that our recorded material did not reflect the high standards of our live performance.

In London 2003/2004 we linked up with Derrick ‘Boy Wundah' Cyrus and performed extensively under Certified Issue at clubs and showcases earning us an article in December 2003 in Hip Hop Connection the UK 's largest Hip Hop publication. We recorded new music, built up a huge fanbase and at a point were getting up to 3000-4000 hits per week on our website. We also realised that our music appealed strongly to females and males alike. We started recording the Ill Twinz album in 2005 when Boy Wundah left Certified Issue to pursue production. Ill Twinz is all about delivering quality music while grasping the fact that the music business is a ‘business' and must be treated as such. We are two brothers who deliver honest emotions on tracks with a trademark swaggering confidence. We tend to connect with the immigrant's struggle in a foreign land and definitely possess that hunger necessary for the underdog to win.

Our chamber is Mood Music so expect the entire spectrum from club ready to the deeply introspective. We also add our unique Caribbean heritage to the Hip Hop formula while feeding off the current scene to ensure our brand offers something relevant, fresh and vibrant to a very crowded and sometimes clichéd market. We are extremely versatile and avoid doing repetitive music. We also have a definite sound due to the chemistry between us. Our production is provided by fellow Trinidadian Boy Wundah and Maestfiddler who are possibly the UK 's best kept secret. Music for the Soul Express/Godfather video clip was produced by Jay ‘O D for Lossol Entertainment.

Music out now
The tracks on this demo represent a small cross section of our completed 16 track debut album titled ‘As Ill As It Gets' while the self funded ‘Soul Express/Godfather Video' clip has graced playlists of No Bling TV, Sky Channel U, SUB TV, Synergy TV (Trinidad, West Indies) as well as the London's BBC Screens Big Summer Music and Film Festival. To provide for the niche underground purists we have been selling our conceptual 17 track ‘Ready 4 War' Mixtape/Street album available at Dark and Cold and Deal Real stores in London as well as online on www.certifiedissue.com and www.everythinghiphop.com
Please note that this tape was done in an artistic light and promotes fierce lyricism and not gun culture.

Future plans
As we are presently self managed under Certified Issue we are in search of professional industry management as well as the right A&R who can get the necessary corporate machinery behind us to market, promote and distribute our recordings on ‘As Ill A s It Gets' as well as the Tommy Deff solo album ‘Trinidad's Finest' . Hopefully the music will impress you enough to garner a response.
