More about Mista Vybe...
Taking the term multi-talented to new heights, Mista Vybe is not just your average musician. Hailing from the Caribbean island of Trinidad, this Versatile Young Black Entertainer (thus the acronym V.Y.B.E.) certainly lives up to that title: effortlessly switching between sweet-voiced R&B singing, Hip Hop rapping, "chatting" in Dancehall Reggae fashion, "freestyling" lyrics spontaneously, dazzling with his energetic live stage performances and even singing his own background vocals, in addition to writing all his own material and producing and arranging as well in some cases.
He has already written and performed several local/regional hits, topped the charts in the French-speaking Caribbean islands, scored an underground hit in France, recorded with legendary 90's super-producer Teddy Riley, and is a well-known performing sensation in his homeland.
His solo Soca single, "Ting 4 D Road", was a favourite in the 2006 Road March race resulting in Mista Vybe performing at all the Trinidad's biggest Carnival events by popular demand, not to mention numerous international dates following Trinidad & Tobago's Carnival celebrations in February, including Grenada, Antigua, Barbados, The Virgin Islands, The Bahamas, Toronto and all over the U.S.
On July 16th, 2006, in St. Lucia, Mista Vybe beat out a strong field of competitors including the reigning Soca/Party Monarchs of St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Grenada, Dominica and Montserrat, as well as special invitees from Trinidad, Barbados and Guyana to win the first ever Caribbean Soca Monarch competion (previously known as the OECS Soca Monarch) and is now the reigning champion.
Judging by the seemingly limitless barrage of blazing tracks he has under his belt (with word that much more are soon to come) it seems like the time for this Vybe is right now.
