The advice I would give to young artists would be to not let anyone tell you not to go after what you want, whether it be to write or paint or sing. If you want it, go for it. There's a saying that goes something like this. "It is not failure we are afraid of but that we are powerful beyond measure." If you wake up in the morning and think about singing, writing or painting then that is what you were meant to be my fellow artists.
